Volunteers are asked to commit to at least six 4.5.hour shifts during the run of the exhibit. There are three shifts per day to choose from: 8:30am . 1:00pm, 12:30pm . 5:00pm, and 4:30pm . 9:00pm.

• Greet visitors and welcome them to the museum.
• Direct visitors through the queuing lines for purchasing tickets and for entering the exhibit.
• Take tickets at the entrance to the exhibit and monitor the exit from the exhibit.
• Give clear directions and provide accurate information about the exhibit and other museum attractions.
• Assist visitors in understanding the layout of the museum.

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be dependable and punctual, and able to commit to at least six 4.5-hour shifts during the run of the exhibit.
• Be self-directed and willing to take initiative.
• Be able to maintain a calm, pleasant, and cheerful demeanor at all times.
• Be able to provide excellent customer service.
• Be able to listen and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and ages.
• Be able to speak in public and respond to visitor inquiries.
• Be comfortable working with large crowds.
• Present a professional appearance.
• Complete OMSI Introduction to Volunteering and Customer Service trainings and participate in an in-depth tour of the museum with an experienced volunteer. Trainings will be offered on multiple days and times during April and May 2007.
